Nap Time

My boss is on vacation for two weeks and in case you couldn't tell from the significant increase in posts, I am BORED at work. With so little to do my days are excruciatingly long and the boredom has made me tired. So I'm napping (with my eyes open of course, I don't want to get fired!) for my remaining couple of hours.

See you all tomorrow.

Hair Today

I have a teeny, tiny, eensy, weensy obsession with hair to the extent that sometimes when I watch a movie or television show I stop paying attention to the stories and only watch the hair (two good examples of this were the third season of One Tree Hill when I was so deeply in love with Peyton's hair I had to watch each episode twice because on the first viewing all I did was covet her cut, and the movie The Prince & Me where I still don't know what the plot was but can tell you for sure that Julia Stiles had a fantastic coif).

I'm really opinionated about 'dos too. Like, maybe I was the only one, but I thought Jennifer Aniston looked better and far less boring (that woman needs to add some color to her wardrobe STAT) when she went from her long, straight, had-it-for-effing-ever hair to a short bob several years ago. I think Jennifer Garner should always have bangs. Lindsey Lohan should not be blond. I prefer Keri Russell's hair when she straightens it. Kristen Bell should also always have bangs as well as layers. And I'm glad that the beautiful Mandy Moore has returned to her brunette look this week after appearing blond in a magazine spread last week, because it is my preference, but I do wish she were wearing it with a little more body and pizazz.

That said, she is so pretty. I would give my right arm for her perfect skin...and hair...and body...and face. She was however wearing totally ugly shoes so I guess she isn't completely perfect.

Oh Honey, No.

I love Mandy Moore to death. She's my number one girl crush. But that doesn't mean she can wear any old thing and I'll go along with it without comment. This is the dress version of the tuxedo T-shirt and that is not ok.

I'm saying this as a friend, Mandy: "cute enough to wear anything" is just a figure of speech. It isn't actually true for anyone.

New 'Do Day

My number 1 girl crush, Mandy Moore, has been sporting a new, shorter 'do recently. I think she looks gorgeous as always.

Suri Cruise was also the recipient of a much-needed bang trim this week that was accompanied by a whole new cut which looks adorable on her. I hope her mom likes it so much she goes back to that style herself.

Why I Love Mandy Moore

There are three famous women that I feel absolutely certain I would be great friends with if ever we met - Jennifer Garner, Lauren Graham and Mandy Moore. I...have a type I guess.

Anyway, I've always felt like I needed to explain my love for Mandy Moore for some reason. Like, ok, she's not the most talented actress or singer in the world, but she makes more good career choices than bad, she doesn't seem to struggle with any substance abuse issues, she's not more well known for her partying than for her movies or music and...well, the list of people who've seen her lady parts does not include "the entire internet-having world." So whatever, I'm not defending it anymore. I have a girl crush on Ms. Moore and I'm damn proud of it.

Because of said girl crush I make a point of seeing all of her movies. Last night I watched Dedication which was an "independent" (or what I prefer to call "festival") film which seemed, on the surface, to have several things going for it: Tom Wilkinson, Diane Wiest, Amy Sedaris, Bobby Cannavale, Billy Crudup (who is, almost certainly, a total shit as a human being - what with dumping his long-time girlfriend 7 months into a pregnancy in favor of shacking up with a starlet 11 years his junior - but is quite a good actor) and a first-time director who I quite adore as an actor in Justin Theroux. Not to mention Mandy.

And let me tell you, she looked STUNNING in this movie. The things that I would do to have her hair or her skin or her eyes, would surely get me arrested in at least 40 states. I thought she did good work playing opposite someone whose character was bat-shit crazy. Make no mistake, Billy Crudup is what that movie is about. Billy Crudup having a nervous breakdown, flexing his "ticks of a nut-job" muscle, reciting monologue after over-wrought monologue. Still, in every scene the two shared, she didn't seem like another set-piece for him to chew up and spit out. She held her own, even when the only thing she had to work with was silent emotion. The movie gave her little to do - and gave Cannavale, Sedaris and Wiest almost NOTHING to do, Theroux should be ashamed - but she did it wonderfully.

And did I mention how absolutely gorgeous she is?
